About This Course

The purpose of the Advance Cours e in Medical Education is to equip the existing Medical Education units/departments with faculty competent in Curriculum development, Project Implementation, Qualitative Educational Research, Scholarship, Educational Leadership and Innovative Assessments. With time, the NMC sees these elite trained National Faculty to be the core leader Physician-Educators in their own institutions and regions.

Course Strategy:

One Year longitudinal distant contact education course. The following are required criteria for successful certification:

  1. 1. Full attendance at two contact sessions:

    • 1st Contact session of 5 days at the beginning of the course

    • 2nd Contact session of 3 days-- 6 months later

  2. 2. On line participation in academic discussions as per norms set by the NMC sub-committee

  3. 3. Conduct and submission of an educational research project at end of 6 months.

  4. 4. Observation and submission of a report on a Basic MET workshop in the latter 6 months

 

Eligibility criteria for the participants:

  • 1. Teaching faculty of Medical Colleges, who have successfully completed the MCI Recognized Basic Medical Education Technologies workshop held either at the Regional Center or in their respective institute observed by a MCI Observer

  • 2. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
